# Arma 3 Server Admin Commands: Full List With Examples

> Arma 3 server admin commands with examples: #login, #kick, #exec ban, #missions, #restart, #reassign, #lock, #monitor, #shutdown and the player #vote commands.

Arma 3 server admin commands are typed in the in-game chat and start with `#`. Log in first with `#login` and the `passwordAdmin` from `server.cfg`. The most used are `#kick name`, `#exec ban "name"`, `#missions`, `#restart`, `#reassign`, `#lock`, `#unlock`, `#monitor 5` and `#shutdown`. Players without admin rights can use the `#vote` commands.

| Fact | Value |
| - | - |
| Where to type | In-game chat |
| Log in | `#login yourAdminPassword` (needs `passwordAdmin` in `server.cfg`) |
| Log out | `#logout` |
| Ban list file | `ban.txt` |

New to admin rights? Set them up first: [become admin](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/arma-3/how-to-become-admin-on-your-arma-3-server.md).

| `#restart` | Restarts the current mission | `#restart` |
| `#reassign` | Restarts the mission and lets players pick roles again | `#reassign` |
| `#init` | Reloads `server.cfg` | `#init` |

## Player commands (kick and ban)

To start the server again after `#shutdown`, click **Start** in the panel. For planned restarts, a [schedule](https://help.freakhosting.com/portals/game-panel/how-to-configure-schedules-and-tasks.md) is easier.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I type these commands in the panel console?

The `#` commands are chat commands for players in the game. Use them in game after `#login`. For remote control, use [BattlEye RCon](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/arma-3/how-to-set-up-battleye-rcon-on-arma-3.md).

### Where are bans saved?

`#exec ban` writes the player's ID to `ban.txt`. Remove a ban with `#exec unban "UID"`.

### How do I restart the mission without restarting the server?

Use `#restart`, or `#reassign` if players should pick new roles.
