# Arma 3 Dedicated Server Guide: Setup, Mods, Admin and Fixes

> Arma 3 dedicated server guide for FREAKHOSTING: setup, Startup variables, server.cfg, mods, TFAR, extDB3, Altis Life, admin commands and fixes in one place.

This Arma 3 dedicated server guide lists every FREAKHOSTING help page for Arma 3. Arma 3 has no game settings page in the panel: you set the password, slots, mods, branch and headless clients on **Startup**, and the server name, admin password and missions in `server.cfg` under **Files**. Workshop mods load from a `modlist.html` exported from the Arma 3 Launcher. New here? The panel writes **Server Password** and **Max Players** into `server.cfg` every time the server starts, so change them on **Startup**, not in the file.

## Frequently asked questions

### Where do I change my Arma 3 server name?

In `server.cfg` (`hostname`) under **Files**, then restart. See [server.cfg explained](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/arma-3/configuring-servercfg-for-arma-3.md).

### Does my Arma 3 server support Workshop mods?

Yes. Export your Launcher preset as an HTML file, upload it as `modlist.html` and restart. The server downloads the mods and their keys. See [install mods](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/arma-3/installing-mods-and-mission-files-in-arma-3.md).

### How do I become admin on my server?

### Can I use a database for my mission?
