# Counter-Strike 1.6 Server Guide: Setup, Settings, Mods and Fixes

This Counter-Strike 1.6 server guide lists every FREAKHOSTING help page for CS 1.6. Your server runs ReHLDS and ReGameDLL with Metamod, AMX Mod X 1.10, Reunion and Revoice+ already installed and running, so you do not install them yourself. You change the usual `server.cfg` rules on the **Game settings** page under **GAME SETTINGS**. New here? ## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need to install Metamod or AMX Mod X on my CS 1.6 server?

No. Metamod, AMX Mod X 1.10, Reunion and Revoice+ are already installed and running on ReHLDS. Type `meta list` in the **Console** to see them. Installing them again can break the server.

### Can non-Steam players join my CS 1.6 server?

Yes. Reunion is installed, which lets protocol 47 and 48 non-Steam clients join a ReHLDS server alongside Steam players. See [Reunion and ReHLDS](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/counter-strike-16/installing-reunion-and-rehlds.md).

### How do I change server.cfg settings?

Use **Game settings** for the usual rules (round time, money, friendly fire and more), then **Review and save** and restart. For anything else, edit `cstrike/server.cfg` in **Files**. See [server.cfg explained](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/counter-strike-16/cs-16-server-cfg-explained.md).

### Can I change the number of player slots?

No, **Max Players ( Slots )** comes from your plan and is read-only. [Open a ticket](https://freakhosting.com/clientarea/submitticket.php) if you need a different number of slots.
