# CS 1.6 Server Not Showing in the Server List: Fixes

> CS 1.6 server not showing in the server list? Check it's running, turn LAN only off, search the Internet tab by name, or add it to Favorites with its address.

If your Counter-Strike 1.6 server isn't showing in the server list, first check it is running and that **LAN only** is off in **Game settings** (`sv_lan 0`). Then search the **Internet** tab for your exact **Server name**. You can always skip the list: add the address from the **Console** page, such as `203.0.113.10:27015`, to Steam **Favorites**, or type `connect 203.0.113.10:27015` in the game console.

## How to make your CS 1.6 server show in the list

**1. Check LAN only**

Open **Game settings** under **GAME SETTINGS**. In **Security and downloads**, **LAN only** must be off. "With LAN mode on, players on the internet cannot join."

**2. Save and restart**

If you changed it, click **Review and save**, **Save changes** and [restart the server](https://help.freakhosting.com/portals/game-panel/how-to-start-stop-and-restart-your-game-server.md).

**3. Wait for the listing**

Watch the [console](https://help.freakhosting.com/portals/game-panel/how-to-use-the-server-console.md) until `Connection to Steam servers successful.` appears. Give the server list a few minutes to pick it up.

**4. Search by name**

In the game, open **Find Servers**, choose **Internet** and filter by your server's name. The list is long, so searching is faster than scrolling.

## Join without the server list

The server list isn't needed to play:

* **Game console:** press `~` and type `connect 203.0.113.10:27015`.
* **Steam favourites:** in Steam, open **View** > **Game Servers** > **Favorites**, click **Add a server**, enter the address and connect. The server then stays in your list.
* **Share the address:** copy it from the **Copy address** card on the **Console** page and send it to your players.

## Frequently asked questions

### How long does it take for a CS 1.6 server to appear in the list?

Usually a few minutes after it has started. It doesn't affect who can join: anyone with the address can connect straight away.

### Does a password hide my server from the list?

No. A server with **Server password** set can still be listed; players need the password to join.

### Can I hide my server from the list?
