> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://help.freakhosting.com/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # How to Add an Admin on Your CS 1.6 Server (AMX Mod X users.ini) > Add an admin on your Counter-Strike 1.6 server: put the SteamID, access flags and account flags in AMX Mod X users.ini, then run amx_reloadadmins. To add an admin on a FREAKHOSTING Counter-Strike 1.6 server, open `cstrike/addons/amxmodx/configs/users.ini` in **Files** and add a line such as `"STEAM_0:0:123456" "" "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv" "ce"` with the player's SteamID. Save the file and type `amx_reloadadmins` in the **Console**, or restart. AMX Mod X 1.10 is already installed, so this is the only step. | Difficulty | Time | Works on | Panel pages | | - | - | - | - | | Beginner | 5 minutes | Every FREAKHOSTING Counter-Strike 1.6 server | **Files**, **Console** | ## Before you start * You need the player's SteamID, IP address, or name and a password. * The Game Panel has no admin list page for CS 1.6; admins live in `users.ini`. ## How to find a player's SteamID Ask the player to join, then type `status` in the Game Panel [console](https://help.freakhosting.com/portals/game-panel/how-to-use-the-server-console.md). Each player's line shows their ID, such as `STEAM_0:0:123456`. As an admin in game, `amx_who` shows the same. Reunion is installed, so non-Steam players get an ID that Reunion generates. Use the ID that `status` shows on your server, not one from another server. ## How to add an admin to users.ini **1. Open users.ini** In **Files**, open `cstrike/addons/amxmodx/configs/users.ini`. A new server has only the `"loopback"` line; leave it. **2. Add a line** Add one line per admin at the end of the file, in this order: ` `. ```ini theme={null} "STEAM_0:0:123456" "" "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv" "ce" ``` **3. Save** Save the file. **4. Reload the admins** Type `amx_reloadadmins` in the console, or [restart the server](https://help.freakhosting.com/portals/game-panel/how-to-start-stop-and-restart-your-game-server.md). The player may need to reconnect. You can also add an admin from the console with `amx_addadmin [password] [authtype]`. It writes the line to `users.ini` for you. ## users.ini examples | Log in by | Example line | Account flags | | - | - | - | | SteamID | `"STEAM_0:0:123456" "" "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv" "ce"` | `c` = SteamID, `e` = no password check | | IP address | `"203.0.113.25" "" "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv" "de"` | `d` = IP, `e` = no password check | | Name and password | `"My Name" "my_password" "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv" "a"` | `a` = kick on wrong password | For a name and password admin, the player adds this to their game's `autoexec.cfg` (or types it in the console before joining): ```text theme={null} setinfo _pw "my_password" ``` `_pw` is the default of `amx_password_field` in `addons/amxmodx/configs/amxx.cfg`. If you change that cvar, use the new name instead. ## Access flags | Flag | Gives | | - | - | | `a` | Immunity (can't be kicked, banned, slayed or slapped) | | `b` | Reserved slot | | `c` | `amx_kick` | | `d` | `amx_ban` and `amx_unban` | | `e` | `amx_slay` and `amx_slap` | | `f` | `amx_map` | | `g` | `amx_cvar` (not all cvars) | | `h` | `amx_cfg` | | `i` | `amx_chat` and other chat commands | | `j` | `amx_vote` and other vote commands | | `k` | `sv_password` through `amx_cvar` | | `l` | `amx_rcon` and `rcon_password` through `amx_cvar` | | `m` to `t` | Custom levels A to H, used by extra plugins | | `u` | Menu access (`amxmodmenu`) | | `v` | Temporary bans only | | `z` | Normal player, not an admin (don't give it to admins) | `abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv` gives full rights. A moderator could have `bcdefiju`: reserved slot, kick, ban, slay, map, chat, votes and menus. ## Account flags | Flag | Meaning | | - | - | | `a` | Disconnect the player on an invalid password | | `b` | The first field is a clan tag | | `c` | The first field is a SteamID | | `d` | The first field is an IP address | | `e` | Don't check the password | | `k` | The name or tag is case-sensitive | ## Frequently asked questions ### Why doesn't my admin work? Check that the SteamID is exactly the one `status` shows, that the line has four quoted fields, and that you ran `amx_reloadadmins` or restarted. Then reconnect and type `amx_who`. ### How do I open the admin menu? Bind a key or type `amxmodmenu` in the game console. It needs flag `u`. ### How do I remove an admin? Delete their line from `users.ini`, save and run `amx_reloadadmins`. Put `;` in front of a line to switch it off without deleting it. ### Do I need the RCON password to be admin? No. AMX Mod X admins use their own flags.
