# CS2 Grenade Camera Command: Turn On the Grenade Cam

> The CS2 grenade camera command is sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1. Run it on your server with sv_cheats 1 to see where every grenade lands, plus trails.

The CS2 grenade camera command is `sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1`. It shows a small picture-in-picture camera that follows your thrown grenade, so you see where a smoke, flash or molotov lands. It is a server setting: on a FREAKHOSTING server, type `sv_cheats 1` and then the command in the Game Panel **Console**. Add `sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_trailtime 8` to also see the grenade's path.

## The grenade camera commands

| Command | What it does |
| - | - |
| `sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1` | Turns the grenade camera (picture-in-picture preview) on. `0` turns it off, which is the default. |
| `sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_trailtime 8` | Shows the line your grenade flew along for 8 seconds. Use a higher number to keep it longer. |
| `sv_rethrow_last_grenade` | Throws your last grenade again from the same spot, so you can watch it on the camera again. |
| `sv_cheats 1` | Allows cheat commands. Practice configs turn it on first. |

## How to turn on the grenade cam on your server

**1. Start the server**

Open your server in the [Game Panel](https://games.freakhosting.com) and click **Start**.

**2. Open the Console**

Click **Console** in the sidebar. See [how to use the server console](https://help.freakhosting.com/portals/game-panel/how-to-use-the-server-console.md).

**3. Type the commands**

Type each line and press Enter:

sv_cheats 1
sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1
sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_trailtime 8
```

**4. Throw a grenade**

Join the server and throw a grenade. A small window shows the grenade in flight and where it lands.

>
> These are server settings. Typing `sv_cheats 1` in your own game console on a dedicated server fails with "can't change replicated convar sv\_cheats from console of client, only server operator can change its value". Type it in the panel **Console** instead.

## How to keep the grenade cam on every time

Commands typed in the console are lost when the server restarts or you run another config. Put them in a config file:

**1. Create the file**

Click **Files**, go to `game/csgo/cfg/` and click **New file**. Paste the three commands above, click **Create File** and name it `nades.cfg`.

**2. Run it**

Type `exec nades` in the **Console** whenever you want to practise.

## Bind the rethrow to a key

Each player can bind the rethrow command in their own game console:

bind j sv_rethrow_last_grenade
```

Press **J** to throw your last grenade again and watch it on the camera.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does the grenade camera work in official matchmaking?

No. You can only change these settings on a server you control, such as your own CS2 server or an offline practice game.

### Why don't I see the grenade camera?

Check that you ran the commands in the panel **Console** while the server was running, and that `sv_cheats` is `1`. If the server restarted, run them again or use `exec nades`.

### How do I turn the grenade camera off?

Type `sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 0` in the **Console**, or restart the server.

### Is there a bomb camera command?

We don't know of a setting that does this. The grenade camera only follows grenades you throw.
