# DayZ Admin Commands: #login, #kick, #exec ban and More

> DayZ admin commands: set an Admin password, type #login <password> in chat, then use #kick, #exec ban, #monitor and #shutdown. Full list with syntax.

DayZ admin commands are typed in the in-game chat and start with `#`. First set an **Admin password** in **Game settings**, join your server and type `#login <password>`. After that you can use `#kick <name>` to remove a player, `#exec ban <name>` to ban one, `#monitor <seconds>` to watch server performance and `#shutdown` to stop the server. Type `#logout` when you are done.

## How to log in as admin on DayZ

**1. Set the admin password**

In **Game settings**, set **Admin password** ("The password for in-game admin commands (#login)."). Click **Review and save** and restart.

**2. Join and open chat**

Join your server and open the chat.

**3. Log in**

Type `#login yourpassword` and press Enter. You are now admin until you log out or leave.

## DayZ admin command list

| `#logout` | Logs you out. |
| `#kick <name>` | Kicks a player by name. |
| `#kick <ID>` | Kicks a player by ID. |
| `#exec ban <name>` | Bans a player by name. |
| `#exec ban <ID>` | Bans a player by ID. |
| `#monitor <seconds>` | Shows server performance every few seconds; `#monitor 0` stops it. |
| `#shutdown` | Stops the server. Start it again from the panel. |

Vanilla DayZ has no commands to teleport, spawn items or heal. For that, install an admin mod such as [VPP Admin Tools](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/dayz/accessing-vpp-admin-tools.md) or a web tool such as [CFTools Cloud](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/dayz/how-to-admin-your-server-with-cftools.md).

## Restart and moderate from the panel

## Frequently asked questions

### Why does #login say wrong password?

Check that you saved **Admin password** and restarted the server afterwards. The password is case-sensitive.

### Does #shutdown restart the server?

No. It stops the server. Start it again with **Start** in the panel, or use a restart schedule instead.

### Does DayZ have RCON?

Yes, through BattlEye. Set **RCON Password** on the **Startup** page and use an RCON tool or CFTools Cloud with the **RCON Port** shown there.
