# FiveM Server Guide: Set Up, Configure and Fix Your Server

> The FREAKHOSTING FiveM server guide: get a licence key, set up txAdmin, edit server.cfg, add resources, change builds and fix common FiveM server problems.

A FREAKHOSTING FiveM server runs FXServer, the official server program from Cfx.re, with txAdmin already switched on. You control it in the Game Panel at [games.freakhosting.com](https://games.freakhosting.com), where the **FIVEM** group in the sidebar adds three pages: **Server config** (edit `server.cfg` in plain words), **Resources** (upload and start scripts, cars and maps) and **Artifacts** (change the FXServer build).

### Do I need a licence key to run a FiveM server?

Yes. Every FiveM server needs a free licence key from the [Cfx.re Portal](https://portal.cfx.re). Without a valid key, the server does not start. See [how to get a FiveM licence key](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/fivem/setting-up-a-fivem-license-key.md).

### Is txAdmin included?

Yes. txAdmin is installed and always switched on. Click **Open txAdmin** next to your server's IP to open it on port `40120`. See [how to set up txAdmin](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/fivem/how-to-install-txadmin-on-fivem.md).

### What is the difference between the FXServer build and the game build?

The FXServer build (the "artifact") is the server program, which you change on **Artifacts**. The game build is the GTA V version players must run, which you set under **Game build** on **Server config**.

### Can I install QBCore or ESX?
