# FiveM Server Not Showing in the Server List? How to Fix It

> FiveM server not showing in the server list? Wait up to 8 minutes, check the licence key, sv_master1 and sv_lan, test info.json and search for the right name.

If your FiveM server isn't showing in the server list, first wait: Cfx.re says it can take up to 8 minutes after start-up. Then check that the server started without a licence key error, that `server.cfg` has no `sv_lan true` or uncommented `sv_master1 ""` line, and that you search for the exact name from **Server config**. Players can always join directly with `connect 203.0.113.10:30120` in the F8 console.

| Beginner | 10 minutes | Every FREAKHOSTING FiveM server | **Console**, **Server config** |

## How to fix a FiveM server that isn't listed

**1. Wait up to 8 minutes**

According to [Cfx.re](https://docs.fivem.net/docs/support/server-issues/), a server can take up to 8 minutes to appear in the list after launch. Don't restart it again during that time.

**2. Check the console**

Read the **Console** from the top of the last start. A licence key error stops the server from being listed. See [how to change your licence key](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/fivem/how-to-change-server-license-key-on-your-fivem-server.md).

**3. Check sv\_lan and sv\_master1**

Open **Server config** > **Advanced: open the raw file** and look for these lines:

| Line | Effect | Fix |
| - | - | - |
| `sv_lan true` | LAN-only: hidden from the public list. | Remove it or set it to `false`. |
| `sv_master1 ""` | Marks the server as **private**: it shows without a working connect button. | Put `#` in front of it. If the line isn't there, don't add it. |

**4. Search for the right name**

Search the list for the exact **Server name** or **Project name** you set on **Server config**, not the IP.

**5. Test that the server is reachable**

Open `http://203.0.113.10:30120/info.json` in your browser, with your own address from **Copy address**. A page full of text (JSON) means the server answers. If it doesn't load, see [FiveM failed to connect](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/fivem/fivem-failed-to-connect-to-server.md).

**6. Restart once**

Save any changes, restart, and wait up to 8 minutes again.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If **Server config** shows the check **txAdmin runs this server**, txAdmin uses a `server.cfg` in another folder. Check that file for `sv_lan` and `sv_master1`.

## Why does my server show a lock icon?

A txAdmin allowlist is on. txAdmin shows a lock next to your server name when **Allowlist Mode** is anything other than **Disabled**. See [Discord whitelist](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/fivem/whitelisting-with-discord-roles.md).

## Why does the server list show an old name or no logo?

Cfx.re marks `sv_hostname`, `sv_projectName`, `sv_projectDesc` and `load_server_icon` as deprecated and points to the [Cfx.re Portal](https://portal.cfx.re) instead. If the list shows something different from **Server config**, check your server's details on the Portal too. See [how to add a server logo](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/fivem/how-to-add-a-custom-logo-to-your-fivem-server.md).

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I hide my FiveM server from the list?

`sv_master1 ""` only marks it as private; Cfx.re says it cannot de-list a server. To limit who can join, use a [txAdmin allowlist](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/fivem/whitelisting-with-discord-roles.md).

### My server was listed yesterday. Why not today?

Check the console for a licence key error or a crash, and that the server is running. Occasionally the Cfx.re listing service itself has problems; then waiting is the only fix.

### How do players join while it isn't listed?

In FiveM, press **F8** and type `connect` with your address, for example `connect 203.0.113.10:30120`. Copy it from **Copy address** on the console.

### Do tags help my server show up?

Tags help players find you in search, but they don't decide whether you're listed. Set them under **Tags** on **Server config**.
