# KF2 Admin Commands: How to Log In as Admin and Use Them

> KF2 admin commands: log in with AdminLogin and your Admin Password, then use Admin Kick, Admin KickBan, Admin Switch and Admin RestartMap in the console.

To use admin commands on a FREAKHOSTING Killing Floor 2 server, join the server, open the game console and type `AdminLogin` followed by the **Admin Password** from **Startup**. Most admin commands then start with `Admin`, for example `Admin Kick PlayerName` or `Admin Switch KF-Outpost`. Type `AdminLogout` when you are done.

## How to make yourself admin on your KF2 server

**1. Check the Admin Password**

In the [Game Panel](https://games.freakhosting.com), open **Startup** and note the **Admin Password**. You can change it there; restart the server afterwards.

**2. Join the server**

Join your server in Killing Floor 2.

**3. Log in**

Open the game console and type:

AdminLogin yourpassword
```

> Anyone with the **Admin Password** has full control of the match. Don't post screenshots of the **Startup** page, because its **Startup Command** card shows the password. Share it only with people you trust, and change it if it leaks.

## KF2 admin commands list

| Command | What it does | Example |

| `AdminLogin <password>` | Logs you in as admin. | `AdminLogin yourpassword` |
| `AdminLogout` | Logs you out as admin. | `AdminLogout` |
| `AdminSay <message>` | Shows a message to all players. | `AdminSay Server restarts after this wave` |
| `Admin Kick <player>` | Removes a player from the match. | `Admin Kick PlayerName` |
| `Admin KickBan <player>` | Removes a player and bans them from coming back. | `Admin KickBan PlayerName` |
| `Admin Switch <map>` | Changes to another map now. | `Admin Switch KF-Outpost` |
| `Admin RestartMap` | Restarts the current map. | `Admin RestartMap` |

Without the `Admin` prefix, commands such as `Kick` or `KickBan` aren't recognised.

## Can I run admin commands from the Game Panel console?

The panel **Console** shows the server's log while it runs, which is useful to check start-up and Workshop downloads. Use the commands above in the game console while you are on the server. ## Frequently asked questions

### Why does AdminLogin say the password is wrong?

Type the **Admin Password** exactly as shown on **Startup**, with matching capitals. On a brand-new server the password is applied from the second start, so stop the server and start it again.

### How do I change the KF2 admin password?

Change **Admin Password** on **Startup** and restart the server. The panel writes it into `LinuxServer-KFGame.ini` for you, so don't edit `AdminPassword=` in the file.

### Does a map switch reset my settings?

`Admin Switch` only changes the map until the next restart. After a restart, the server uses **Map Name** and the other **Startup** variables again.
