# How to Upload Your Save to a Satisfactory Server

## Prerequisites

* **Local Save:** Located in `%localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\{YOUR_ID}\`.

## Step-by-Step Guide

### Step 1: Prepare the File

1. Find your save (e.g., `MyBase.sav`).
2. Rename it to something simple like `session.sav` (Optional, but removes spaces).

### Step 2: Uploading

1. Connect via SFTP.
2. Navigate to `/.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/server/`.
   * *Note:* This path is weird on Linux. It might be hidden. If you can't find it, look for the log file "LogServer" -> search for "Save Path" to find where the server thinks the saves are.
   * *Common Path:* `/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/server/`.
3. Upload the `.sav` file.

### Step 3: Configuring Startup

1. Go to **Server Manager** (In your Game Client).
2. Select the server.
3. Go to **Manage Saves** tab.
4. You should see "session" in the list.
5. Click **Load Game**.
6. The server will restart and load that factory.

## Troubleshooting

**"Version Mismatch"**

* If you played on "Experimental" branch locally, you cannot load that save on "Early Access" (Stable) server. They must match.

## Conclusion

Your factory is portable. Move it between PC and Server as much as you like. Just remember to **Save** before shutting down!
