# How to Use Cheatstick & Admin Console in Sons of the Forest

> Enable the developer console and use cheatstick commands on your Sons of the Forest server to manage the world, spawn items, and debug gameplay.

> Unlike the traditional console systems in most survival games, Sons of the Forest uses a hidden "Cheatstick" menu to access administrative powers. This menu allows hosts to spawn items, fly (debugcamera), and instantly build massive structures for community events.

## Activation Process

To open the console, you must first bypass the game's developer lock:

1. **Enter the "Cheat":** While in-game (not in a menu), type the word `cheatstick` using your keyboard. You do not need to open a text box; simply type it blindly while in the world.
2. **Access Menu:** Press the **F1** key.
3. **Verification:** A text prompt should appear in the top-left corner of the screen. If it does not appear, ensure you typed the word correctly without any pauses.

## Essential Commands

| Command               | Effect                                                          |
| :-------------------- | :-------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `addallitems`         | Adds 1 of every item in the game to your inventory.             |
| `godmode on`          | Invulnerability and infinite stamina.                           |
| `instantbookbuild on` | Any architectural blueprint finishes as soon as you look at it. |
| `loghack on`          | Infinite logs appear in your hands while building.              |
| `save`                | Forces the dedicated server to save current world progress.     |

  ### Server-Side Permission

  For the `cheatstick` menu to function on a dedicated server, the variable `"AllowCheats": true` must be set within the `/userdata/dedicatedservergameplay.json` file. If this is false, only local "Admin" password users can execute commands.
