# Unturned Server Commands: Console, Admin and RocketMod List

> Unturned server commands list: startup commands for Commands.dat, console and admin commands, cheat commands and the RocketMod commands on FREAKHOSTING servers.

Unturned server commands come in two kinds. Startup commands such as `Owner`, `Cheats`, `Map` and `PvE` go in `Commands.dat`, one per line, and are read when the server starts. Runtime commands such as `save`, `kick`, `ban` and `admin` are typed in the Game Panel console, or in chat by an admin with `/`. On FREAKHOSTING servers RocketMod adds its own commands, such as `/v`, `/i` and `/tp`.

| Where | How to type it | Example |
| - | - | - |
| `Commands.dat` (startup) | One command per line, no `/` | `Cheats` |
| Panel console (runtime) | No `/` | `save` |
| In-game chat (runtime, admins) | Start with `/` | `/kick Nelson/AFK` |

Parameters are separated with `/` in game commands, for example `ban Nelson/Cheating/86400`. Commands are not case-sensitive. Type `help` in the console for the full list, or `help <command>` for one command.

## Startup commands (Commands.dat)

Add these to `Servers/PterodactylUnturned/Server/Commands.dat` while the server is stopped. Open it from **Game settings** > **Commands.dat: open the raw file**. Several of them are also fields in [Game settings](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/unturned/unturned-game-settings-explained.md).

| Command | What it does | Example |
| - | - | - |
| `Owner <SteamID64>` | Sets the server owner, who has admin rights | `Owner 76561198000000000` |
| `Cheats` | Lets admins use cheat commands | `Cheats` |
| `Map <name>` | The map to load (case-sensitive) | `Map Washington` |
| `Mode <Easy/Normal/Hard>` | The difficulty | `Mode Hard` |
| `Perspective <First/Third/Both/Vehicle>` | Camera views players may use | `Perspective First` |
| `PvE` | Turns off player-versus-player damage | `PvE` |
| `Whitelisted` | Only permitted players can join | `Whitelisted` |
| `Hide_Admins` | Hides the admin label from players | `Hide_Admins` |
| `Filter` | Filters non-English or non-alphanumeric player names | `Filter` |
| `Gold` | Only Gold members can join | `Gold` |
| `Loadout <skillset>/<item>/…` | Items players spawn with; skillset 255 means everyone | `Loadout 255/81/14` |
| `Welcome <text>/<R>/<G>/<B>` | Message shown when players join, with an optional colour | `Welcome Hello!/0/255/0` |

Don't add `Port`, `Bind`, `GSLT`, `Name` or `Password` to `Commands.dat`. The panel already sets them from **Startup** each time the server starts.

## Runtime commands (console or chat)

## Cheat commands

These only work when `Cheats` is in `Commands.dat`:

| `reputation <player>/<amount>` | Gives reputation | `/reputation Nelson/10` |

## RocketMod commands

RocketMod is installed on our servers. Its commands use spaces, not `/`, between parameters and don't need `Cheats`. Admins can use them all; other players need the permission in a [RocketMod group](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/unturned/rocketmod-permission-groups-detailed.md).

| Command | What it does | Example |
| - | - | - |
| `/v <id>` | Spawns a vehicle for you | `/v 140` |
| `/i <id> [amount]` (or `/item`) | Gives you an item | `/i 81 5` |
| `/more <amount>` | Gives more of the item in your hands | `/more 10` |
| `/tp <player or place>` | Teleports you | `/tp Nelson` |
| `/tphere <player>` | Teleports a player to you | `/tphere Nelson` |
| `/home` | Teleports you to your bed | `/home` |
| `/heal [player]` | Heals you or another player | `/heal Nelson` |
| `/god` | Makes you invincible | `/god` |
| `/vanish` | Hides you from other players | `/vanish` |
| `/broadcast <colour> <message>` | Sends a coloured message to everyone | `/broadcast red Restart soon` |
| `/investigate <player>` | Shows a player's SteamID64 | `/investigate Nelson` |
| `/compass` | Shows the direction you face | `/compass` |
| `/p` | Shows your RocketMod groups and permissions | `/p` |
| `/rocket plugins` | Lists the installed plugins | `/rocket plugins` |
| `/help [command]` | Shows help | `/help v` |

## Frequently asked questions

### Why do my commands not work in chat?

You need to be an admin, and on our servers commands must start with `/`. RocketMod ignores `@`. See [how to become admin](https://help.freakhosting.com/games/unturned/how-to-become-admin-on-your-unturned-server.md).

### Why does Owner or Cheats do nothing when I type it in the console?

They are startup commands. The server rejects them while it is running. Put them in `Commands.dat` and restart.

### Does the server save automatically?

Yes. RocketMod saves the world every 1800 seconds (30 minutes), as the console shows at start. Type `save` before you stop the server to keep the last few minutes.
