# V Rising Server Not Showing in the Server List: Fixes

> V Rising server not showing in the list? Check List On Steam and List On Epic, wait for Startup Completed, search Show All Servers or use Direct Connect.

If your V Rising server isn't showing in the server list, check that **List On Steam** and **List On Epic** are `true` on the **Startup** page and that the console shows `Startup Completed`. Then in game open **Online Play**, choose **Show All Servers** and search for your exact **Server Name**. You can always skip the list: use **Direct Connect** with the address shown in the Game Panel, for example `203.0.113.10:9876`.

## How to make your V Rising server show in the list

**1. Check the listing variables**

Open **Startup** and set **List On Steam** and **List On Epic** to `true`. The game client looks in the Epic (EOS) list by default, so **List On Epic** matters most.

**2. Restart and wait**

[Restart the server](https://help.freakhosting.com/portals/game-panel/how-to-start-stop-and-restart-your-game-server.md) and watch the [console](https://help.freakhosting.com/portals/game-panel/how-to-use-the-server-console.md). A start takes about a minute. The server is ready when you see `[Server] Startup Completed`.

**3. Search by name**

In V Rising, click **Play**, then **Online Play**, then **Show All Servers**, and type your **Server Name** in the search box. Searching is faster than scrolling.

## How to join without the server list

**1. Copy your address**

Copy your server's IP address and game port from the Game Panel, for example `203.0.113.10:9876`.

**2. Use Direct Connect**

In V Rising, go to **Play** > **Online Play** > **Show All Servers** and choose **Direct Connect**. Enter the address and connect.

**3. Enter the password**

If you set a **Server Password** on **Startup**, enter it when asked.

## Which ports does my V Rising server use?

| Port | Purpose |
| - | - |
| Game port (9876 on our test server) | Players connect here. Use it for **Direct Connect**. |
| Query port (9877 on our test server) | **\[REQUIRED] Server Query Port**, used for the Steam server list |

Your own ports are shown in the panel. Don't change them in `ServerHostSettings.json`; the panel sets them at every start.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why can't I find my server even with the right name?

The server may still be starting, or the listing may be off. Wait for `Startup Completed`, check **List On Steam** and **List On Epic**, and try **Direct Connect**.

### Can I hide my server from the list?

Yes. Set **List On Steam** and **List On Epic** to `false` and restart. Players then join only with **Direct Connect**. Add a **Server Password** too if you want to keep strangers out.

### My friends get a connection error. What should I check?

Check that everyone uses the same game version, that the server is running, and that they enter the address with the game port, not the query port.
