# How to Configure Firewall Notifications

> Set up real-time DDoS and security incident alerts via Discord, Slack, and email to stay informed about attacks targeting your FREAKHOSTING protected network.

## Real-Time Security Alerts

Maintaining constant situational awareness of your network status is important for professional server management. The FREAKHOSTING Firewall Panel allows you to configure automated **[Notifications](https://firewall.freakhosting.com/dashboard/notifications)** that trigger the instant our mitigation engines detect and neutralize a DDoS event. By establishing these communication channels, you ensure that your technical team or community staff are informed of significant security incidents without having to manually monitor the dashboard.

    To prevent "notification fatigue," you can configure your channels to only trigger for specific event levels. For instance, you may wish to receive Discord alerts for all events but only receive Email alerts for "High" or "Critical" severity attacks.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Multi-Recipient Management">
    Our system supports multiple notification channels simultaneously. You can route alerts to different Discord channels or team member emails based on your internal escalation protocols.

<Tip>
  ### Verification is Essential

  Always use the **Send Test Notification** feature when establishing a new channel. This ensures that your firewall's outbound traffic is not being restricted and that the webhook payload is correctly formatted for your destination platform.
