How to Install & Use Winscp for Game Panel
WinSCP (Windows Secure Copy) is a popular open-source file transfer application for Windows that provides secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer. It offers an easy-to-use graphical interface and supports several transfer protocols including SCP, SFTP, and FTPS. Follow this step-by-step guide to install and use WinSCP effectively.
Step 1: Download and Install WinSCP
- Visit the official WinSCP website at winscp.net.
- Click on the
Download
button to access the download page. - Choose the appropriate installer based on your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) and click
Download
to initiate the download process. - Once the download is complete, locate the downloaded installer file and double-click on it to start the installation process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the installer to complete the installation. Accept the license agreement, choose installation options, and select the installation directory if necessary.
- Click
Install
to begin the installation process. Wait for the installation to finish.
Step 2: Launch WinSCP
- After the installation is complete, launch WinSCP by double-clicking on its desktop shortcut or searching for it in the Start menu.
- Upon launching, you will be greeted with the WinSCP login window.
Step 3: Configure Connection Settings
- Navigate to the GamePanel and choose your server. Access the Settings tab to locate your SFTP details. Kindly input the provided details into the designated fields as outlined below.
Step 4: Establish Connection
- Once you have entered the connection details, click on the
Login
button to establish a connection to the remote server. - If the connection is successful, WinSCP will display the directory structure of the remote server in the right panel of its interface.
Step 5: Transfer Files
- To transfer files between your local machine and the remote server, simply drag and drop files or folders between the local and remote directory panels.
- You can also use the
Upload
andDownload
buttons in the toolbar to transfer files in either direction. - Monitor the transfer progress in the transfer queue window at the bottom of the WinSCP interface.
Step 6: Disconnect and Exit
- Once you have finished transferring files, click on the
Disconnect
button to terminate the connection to the remote server. - Finally, you can exit WinSCP by clicking on the
Exit
button or closing the application window.
