How to Manage Databases at FREAKHOSTING
Welcome to FREAKHOSTING's step-by-step guide on creating and managing databases using our Web Control Panel. Databases are essential for hosting dynamic websites, managing data for your applications, and more. This guide will walk you through the process of creating, accessing, and managing databases using the tools provided by FREAKHOSTING’s powerful Web Control Panel at https://web.freakhosting.com.
A database is a structured set of data held in a computer, especially one that is accessible in various ways. Most commonly used with dynamic websites and applications, databases help store everything from user information to content data.
At FREAKHOSTING, we provide MySQL databases as part of our hosting packages. These databases are powerful, scalable, and widely supported for most web applications.
Log into the FREAKHOSTING Web Panel
Go to https://web.freakhosting.com and log in with your credentials to access your control panel.
Navigate to the 'Databases' Section
Once logged in, locate the 'Databases' option on the top menu of the control panel dashboard and click it.
Access Database Management
After entering the databases section, you will be able to see all existing databases and options to create or manage them.
Click 'Add Database'
In the database management screen, click the 'Add Database' button to begin.
Enter Database Details
- Database Name: Choose a name for your database.
- Username: Assign a user who will have access to this database or create a new user
- Password: Set a strong password for this database user.
Click 'Add'
Once you've filled in the details, click 'Add' to set up the new database. You should see the newly created database in your list of databases.
Go to phpMyAdmin
To manage the contents of your database (such as tables, rows, and columns), FREAKHOSTING provides access to phpMyAdmin, a popular database management tool.
Manage Your Database
Once logged in, you'll be able to:
- Create Tables: Organize your data in structured formats.
- Run Queries: Execute SQL commands to interact with your data.
- Import/Export Data: Easily upload or download data in SQL or CSV formats.
- Backup Your Database: Regularly create backups to prevent data loss.
Select the Database to Delete
In the database management screen, locate the database you wish to remove.
Click 'Delete'
Next to the database, you will find three dots and a 'Delete' option. Click it to permanently delete the database.
Confirm Deletion
You will be prompted to confirm the deletion. Be cautious, as deleting a database will remove all its data permanently.
Important Tips:
- Backup Your Database: Always back up your database before making any significant changes or deleting it. This ensures you can restore your data if something goes wrong.
- Keep Database Credentials Secure: Ensure that your database usernames and passwords are strong and stored securely. Weak credentials can expose your data to security risks.
- Monitor Database Usage: Regularly monitor your database’s size and performance to ensure it runs efficiently, especially for larger websites.
