RAGE:MP has no built-in admin system, admin file or admin command. Admins are part of your gamemode: a server script keeps a list of trusted players, for example by Social Club name (player.socialClub) or Rockstar ID (player.rgscId), and checks it before running commands such as kick (player.kick) or ban (player.ban). Many downloaded gamemodes include their own admin system; check their readme first.

How to add a simple admin list

1

Create the script

Click Files, open packages/<gamemode>/ and create admin.js with New file.
2

Add your admins

Paste the code below and put your Social Club names in the admins list.
3

Load it

Add require('./admin.js'); to the gamemode’s index.js.
4

Save and restart

Click Save Content and restart the server. Test with /kick <name> in game.
Commands receive the player who typed them, the full text, then each word as a separate argument.

Which ID should I use?

Admin rights in the Game Panel

In-game admins and panel access are separate. To let staff restart the server or read the console without your login, add them on Users in the panel; see sub-users.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an admins file like in other games?

No. Nothing in conf.json or the server folder sets admins. Everything is done in scripts.

How do I save bans?

To keep your own ban list that you control and that survives restarts, store the player’s rgscId or serial in a file or database and check it in the playerJoin event.

Can I add an admin menu?

Yes, build it with CEF and only open it for players your admin check accepts. See CEF user interfaces.

Where do I find my Social Club name?

It is the name of your Rockstar Games Social Club account, the one the launcher uses. You can also print player.socialClub to the console from a script.
