If your 7 Days to Die server isn’t showing in the server browser, check that Visibility is Public on Game settings, that the console shows INF StartGame done, and that you search for the exact Server name. Players on a different game version won’t see it either. You can always skip the browser and join with Connect to IP, your server address and port 26900.

Quick checks

How to make your server show in the browser

1

Set Visibility to Public

Open Game settings > Server and set Visibility to Public. A server that is not listed can still be joined by address.
2

Check name and region

Give the server a clear Server name and choose the Region where it is hosted, so players can filter for it.
3

Save and restart

Click Review and save and restart the server.
4

Wait until it is ready

Watch the console. The server can only be listed after INF [Steamworks.NET] GameServer.LogOn successful appears. A new random world takes longer the first time.
5

Search in game

Choose Join a Game, clear the filters and search for your server name.

How to join without the server browser

In 7 Days to Die, choose Join a Game, then Connect to IP. Enter your server address, for example 203.0.113.10, and port 26900. Enter the server password if you set one. This works whatever the Visibility setting is.

Crossplay and console players

Console players can only join servers with Crossplay turned on (Game settings > Admin and anti-cheat). Crossplay servers need Anti-cheat (EasyAntiCheat) on and have fewer player slots, so mods with .dll files can’t be used.

Frequently asked questions

Why can my friends join by IP but not find the server in the list?

Visibility is probably not Public, a filter hides it, or they search a different name. Joining by IP doesn’t depend on the listing.

How long until my server shows in the list?

It can be listed once the console shows GameServer.LogOn successful. On a normal start that is about half a minute after the game starts loading.

Do I need to open or forward ports?

No. Your server’s ports, including game port 26900, are already assigned to it. Players only need the address and port 26900.
