To reset the economy in American Truck Simulator, turn on the console (g_console and g_developer set to "1" in config.cfg), load your profile, press ~ and type uset g_force_economy_reset 1. Save, return to the main menu and load the profile again to rebuild the job market. Without uset in front, the console says unknown command. This happens in your own game, not on the server.

Before you start

  • Finish or cancel your current job first. The reset rebuilds the jobs, so a job in progress can be lost.
  • Save your game, and back up your profile folder if it matters to you (Documents\American Truck Simulator\profiles or steam_profiles).

How to reset the ATS economy

Turn on the console

Close the game. Open Documents\American Truck Simulator\config.cfg, set uset g_console "1" and uset g_developer "1", and save. SCS’s console documentation says to turn on both.

Load your profile

Start the game and load the profile you want to reset.

Open the console

Press ~ (the key under Esc on most keyboards).

Set the flag

Type the command exactly, including uset:

Save and reload

Save the game, return to the main menu and load the same profile again. The economy resets while the profile loads.

Check the jobs

Open the job market. You should see a new set of jobs.
SCS made the flag switch itself off after the reset (since ATS 1.6), so it doesn’t reset again every time you load.

Why does g_force_economy_reset not work?

Can I reset the economy on my convoy server?

No. The dedicated server has no economy setting in server_config.sii. Each player’s money, trucks and job market come from their own profile. A player who wants fresh jobs resets the economy in their own game.

Does an economy reset delete my trucks or money?

The reset is for the job market. Save first and back up your profile folder if you want to be safe.

Does g_force_economy_reset work in Euro Truck Simulator 2?

Yes. Both games use the same engine and the same steps; use Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\config.cfg instead.

Why are there no jobs at all?

A broken or outdated mod can stop jobs from appearing. Try the reset, and if it doesn’t help, turn off mods in Mod Manager one by one.

Do I need g_developer for this?

SCS’s console documentation says to set both g_console and g_developer to "1". Turning on both avoids problems.
