On an American Truck Simulator dedicated server, admins are called moderators. Add each moderator’s SteamID64 to moderator_list in server_config.sii (in Files > .local > share > American Truck Simulator) and restart; they are promoted when they join. Moderators type commands in the convoy chat: /set_time <HH:MM>, /set_rain_factor <0 to 1> and /help. Moderators can’t be added while the server runs.

Moderator chat commands

Type these in the chat message box while in the session. These are the moderator commands SCS documents for the dedicated server. There are no documented chat commands for kicking or banning, so use a password to control who can join.

How to add a moderator

Find the SteamID64

Each moderator needs their 17-digit SteamID64, for example 76561198000000001. It is the number in a Steam profile link of the form steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656…. Players with a custom profile URL can look it up with a SteamID finder site.

Stop the server

Stop the server. The list is only read on start.

Edit moderator_list

Open server_config.sii and replace moderator_list: 0 with the number of moderators, then add one line per moderator, counting from 0:

Save and start

Save the file and start the server. Moderators are promoted when they join the session.
The number after moderator_list: must match the number of moderator_list[n] lines. If you add a third moderator, change it to 3 and add moderator_list[2].

How to remove a moderator

Stop the server, delete their line, renumber the remaining lines from [0], lower the count and start the server again.

Can I make someone a moderator while the server is running?

No. SCS says moderators can’t be promoted at runtime. Edit moderator_list and restart.

Do moderators stay after a restart?

Yes. The panel doesn’t touch moderator_list, so your list stays.

What about developer console commands?

Commands such as g_set_time work in your own game’s developer console, not on the server. See developer console.

Can moderators use commands from the Game Panel console?

The panel console shows the server’s log. The documented moderator commands are typed in the in-game chat.
