A new FREAKHOSTING SA-MP server has announce 0 in server.cfg, so it isn’t announced to the server list. To get listed, open server.cfg in Files, set announce 1, keep query 1 and restart. Players should use the open.mp launcher, because the old SA-MP browser no longer works. Anyone can still join straight away by adding your address, for example 203.0.113.10:7777, to Favorites.

How to get your server in the list

Open server.cfg

In the Game Panel, open your server, click Files and open server.cfg.

Turn on announce

Change announce 0 to announce 1. This announces the server to the server list.

Check query

Make sure query 1 is set. With query 0, browsers can’t show your name, players or rules, although players can still join.

Save and restart

Save the file and restart the server. Wait until the console shows Number of vehicle models: 173 (with Grand Larceny) or your gamemode has loaded.

Search in the open.mp launcher

Search for your hostname in the open.mp launcher. A server list doesn’t show new servers instantly, so give it some time.

How players can join while you wait

The server list is only one way in. Players can always join by address:
  1. Copy the address from the top of the panel or the Console page, for example 203.0.113.10:7777.
  2. In the open.mp launcher, open Favorites, click Add Server and enter the address.
  3. Select the server and click Connect.

Do I need to set announce myself?

Yes. A new server comes with announce 0, so it stays out of the public list until you change it. Set announce 1 when you want to be found.

Can I hide my server from the list?

Yes. Keep announce 0. Players with the address can still join, so add a password if you want a private server.

My friends can join but the server isn’t in the list. Is something wrong?

No. Joining by address works without the list. Check announce 1 and give the list time to pick up your server.

Does the server list show my player count?

Yes, when query 1 is set. It also shows your hostname, gamemodetext, language and mapname.
