Securing Your Survival Sanctuary
The Land Claim Block (LCB), commonly known as the Keystone, serves as your primary technological defense against unwanted intrusion and griefing in 7 Days to Die (7D2D). It establishes a designated protection zone where natural zombie spawning is suppressed and the ability of other players to damage your structures is significantly diminished or entirely neutralized.Difficulty

Core Configuration Parameters
You can precisely customize the behavior of Land Claim Blocks by adjusting the specific values within yourserverconfig.xml file.
- Protection Radius
- Ownership & Expiry
- LandClaimSize: This parameter defines the radius (in blocks) of the protected zone. The default value is 41 blocks.
- Pro Tip: Increasing this size provides broader protection but may prevent players from building in close proximity to one another.
Keystone Hardening (PVP vs. PVE)
Hardening refers to the durability multiplier applied to blocks within a claimed zone. This is a critical balancing tool for both competitive PVP and cooperative PVE environments.Offline Durability Modifier
LandClaimOfflineDurabilityModifier: Multiplies the health of blocks when the owner is not connected to the server.
- Value
0: Makes the entire base completely indestructible. - Value
4: Blocks possess four times their standard health.
Recommended Server Profiles
- PVE Servers: Set the offline modifier to
0to eliminate griefing potential entirely. - PVP Servers: A value between
32and64is common, making raids resource-intensive and challenging but still mechanically possible.
Land Claim Decay
Remember that once theLandClaimExpiryTime is reached, the protection multiplier drops to 1x (normal health), allowing any player or zombie to easily destroy your walls and gain access to your stored loot.Need Extra Help?
