Introduction

Satisfactory Dedicated Servers do not have a text file list of admins. Instead, they use a “Claim” system involving an Admin Password. The first person to set up the server sets the password. Anyone else who wants admin rights must enter this password in their client.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Initial Setup (The Claim)

  1. Start your new FREAKHOSTING server.
  2. Open Satisfactory on your PC.
  3. Go to Server Manager -> Add Server. Enter your IP/Port.
  4. The server states will show as “Unclaimed”.
  5. Click Claim Server.
  6. You will be asked to set an Admin Password. Write this down!
  7. You are now the Admin.

Step 2: Authenticating Other Admins

If your friend joins, they successfully connect as a “Guest”. To make them Admin:
  1. They must escape to the menu.
  2. Go to Server Manager.
  3. Select the server.
  4. Click Authenticate.
  5. Type the Admin Password you created in Step 1.
  6. They now have full access to manage saves and settings.

Step 3: Resetting the Password (I forgot it!)

If you lose the password, you must reset the server’s identity.
  1. Stop the server.
  2. Navigate to /FactoryGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/.
  3. Delete ServerSettings.ini.
  4. Restart.
  5. The server will return to the “Unclaimed” state. You can now re-claim it and set a new password. The save file (your factory) is safe and will not be deleted.

Satisfactory’s system is unique but secure. Only share the Admin Password with people you trust to upload/download save files or change game rules.
