If your Unturned server isn’t showing in the server list, first check that it has a valid Steam game server login token (GSLT) for App ID 304930. Servers without one are hidden from the Internet list and, on our servers, never finish starting. Then search the Internet list for your exact Server name. Players can always join with the IP and port in the Connect menu.

How to make your Unturned server show in the list

Set a valid GSLT

Create a token for App ID 304930 at steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers and paste it into GSLT on Startup. The Unturned documentation says servers without a token are hidden from the Internet list.

Restart and wait

Restart the server. Wait for Steam servers ready! in the console and for the map to load. A server with many Workshop mods takes longer the first time because it downloads them.

Search by name

In Unturned, open the server list, choose Internet and type your Server name in the name filter. Searching is faster than scrolling.

How to join without the server list

The list isn’t needed to play:
  • Connect menu: enter your server’s IP in Host and the port in Port, for example 203.0.113.10 and 27015. Both are on the panel’s console page.
  • Server Code: the console prints a 17-digit Server Code when the server is ready. With a GSLT it stays the same after every restart. Players can type it in the Connect menu.
  • Steam favourites: add the IP and port to your Steam favourites and join from Steam.

Why do Workshop maps cause problems?

The server list checks the map’s version before players join. When a Workshop map updates, players with the new version can’t join a server still running the old one. By default the server watches the hosted map for updates, warns players in chat and shuts down after a timer. Start it again, or add a schedule, so it downloads the update. See Workshop collections.

How long does it take for an Unturned server to appear in the list?

It appears once the server is logged on to Steam and the map has loaded. If it still isn’t there after a few minutes, join by IP; the listing doesn’t change who can join.

Why can my friends join by IP but not find the server?

They are probably searching the wrong list, using filters, or typing a different name. Clear filters, choose Internet and search the exact Server name.

Does a password hide my server?

No, but players can filter out password-protected servers. Ask them to check their filters.

Can I change how my server looks in the list?

Yes. On Game settings under Server list, set Short description, List description, Full description, Icon address and Thumbnail address. See game settings.
