.pbo file to the mpmissions folder with Files > Upload, then add it to class Missions in server.cfg with template set to the file name without .pbo, for example template = MyMission.Altis;. Restart the server. Admins can also switch missions in game with #missions.
Before you start
- Get the mission as a packed
.pbofile, for exampleMyMission.Altis.pbo. The part after the dot is the map (here Altis). - If the mission needs mods or a Creator DLC map, install those first. See install mods.
How to upload a mission
1
Stop the server
Stop the server so it doesn’t hold the mission list.
2
Open mpmissions
Click Files and open the
mpmissions folder. On a new server it only holds readme.txt.3
Upload the .pbo
Click Upload and choose your
.pbo file. Keep the file name exactly as it is.4
Add it to server.cfg
Go back to the root, open
server.cfg and add the mission to class Missions (see below). Click Save Content.5
Start the server
Start the server. The first mission in the list loads when the first player joins, or straight away with Auto Initialize Mission on.
How to add the mission to class Missions
The defaultserver.cfg already has a class Missions block with two built-in Zeus missions. Replace them, or add your mission as another class. Each mission needs its own class name.
With more than one mission class, the server runs them in order. Add
randomMissionOrder = true; outside class Missions to pick them at random.
How to change mission in game
- Log in as admin with
#login yourAdminPassword. See become admin. - Type
#missionsto open the mission list, or#mission MyMission.Altisto load one directly. - Use
#restartto restart the current mission.
missionWhitelist[] = {"MyMission.Altis"}; to server.cfg.
How to keep the mission running with no players
Setpersistent = 1; in server.cfg. The mission then keeps running when everyone leaves (missions with base or instant respawn). Turn on Auto Initialize Mission on Startup to start it without waiting for a player.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a mission I made in the editor?
Yes. Export it from the Eden editor as a multiplayer scenario, which gives you a.pbo file, and upload that to mpmissions. The server’s own readme.txt in that folder says exported multiplayer scenarios and downloaded custom scenarios go there.
Why does my mission not show up?
Check that thetemplate matches the file name exactly (without .pbo), that the file is in mpmissions and that all mods the mission needs are loaded. Then restart.
Can I upload an unpacked mission folder?
Use a packed.pbo. It is the format the Bohemia Interactive wiki uses for custom missions, and players download it when they join.
