To become an admin (moderator) on your Euro Truck Simulator 2 dedicated server, add your Steam ID to moderator_list in server_config.sii and restart. Moderators can then type chat commands in the Convoy session: /set_time <HH:MM> sets the time, /set_rain_factor <0 to 1> sets the rain and /help lists the commands. The server has no in-game control panel, so you edit the list in the file.

Find the Steam ID

Find the player’s Steam ID: the 17-digit SteamID64 that starts with 7656119. It is the number in a Steam profile link of the form steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656119… when the player has no custom profile URL.

Stop the server

Stop the server. SCS’s server can’t promote players while it runs.

Edit moderator_list

In Files, open .local > share > Euro Truck Simulator 2 > server_config.sii. Set the count, then one line per moderator, starting at [0]:

Save and start

Save and start the server. The list stays in the file after restarts.
The count must match the number of moderator_list[n] lines. If it says 2, you need [0] and [1].

ETS2 server moderator commands

Type these in the Convoy chat while you’re in the session: SCS’s documentation lists only these three commands for dedicated servers. They change the shared session, because Convoy synchronises time and weather for all players.

How to remove a moderator

Delete their line, lower the count, keep the numbering continuous from [0], and restart. To remove all moderators, set moderator_list: 0 and delete the indexed lines.

Can I kick or ban players from an ETS2 dedicated server?

SCS’s command list for dedicated servers has no kick or ban command. To keep a session private, use a password and change it if needed.

Can I use moderator commands from the Game Panel console?

No. The panel console shows the server’s output. Moderator commands are typed in the game’s chat by a moderator.

Are these the same as developer console commands?

No. Developer console commands such as goto and g_traffic work in your own game. See console commands.
