The Pro-Trucking Challenge

For veteran drivers, the standard map and GPS indicators can make navigation feel too simple. By enabling “Hardcore” settings on your FREAKHOSTING server, you can force players to rely on road signs, physical map knowledge, and CB Radio communication.

Adjusting Immersion Settings

These variables are located in your server_config.sii file.
Config VariableValueEffect
force_show_mapfalseDisables the “M” key and GPS overlay while driving.
show_player_namesfalseRemoves nameplates from above other trucks for realism.
force_speed_limitertrueLocks all trucks to 90 KM/H (97 KM/H in US).

Impact on Gameplay

When these settings are active, players must coordinate frequently via the built-in CB Radio (V key). Drivers must announce their positions by city name or landmark, creating a much more interactive and professional community atmosphere.

Marketing Your Server

Servers running these “Hardcore” settings are highly sought after by the Roleplay (RP) community. We recommend adding [Hardcore] or [Pro-Only] to your hostname to attract serious drivers.
