A Steam logon token gives your Euro Truck Simulator 2 server a persistent server ID, so players can find it by the same search ID every time. Create the token on Steam’s Game Server Account Management page with the game’s App ID, 227300, then paste it into Steam Auth token on Startup and restart. Without a token the server logs on anonymously.

Before you start

  • You need a Steam account that owns Euro Truck Simulator 2. Steam requires game ownership to create the token.
  • Use the game’s App ID, 227300. SCS says the token must not use the dedicated server’s App ID (1948160).

Open Steam's game server page

Sign in at steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers with the Steam account that owns ETS2.

Create the token

Enter App ID 227300 and a memo you will recognise, such as “ETS2 convoy server”, and create the token. Copy the token it shows.

Paste it on Startup

In the Game Panel, open Startup and paste the token into Steam Auth token (up to 32 characters). Click out of the field to save it.

Restart and check

Restart the server. The console should no longer show [MP] LogOn Anonymous.

Treat the token like a password. Don’t share it or post screenshots of it. Each token can be used by one server at a time.

What is the Euro Truck Simulator 2 App ID?

The game is 227300. The Euro Truck Simulator 2 Dedicated Server tool is 1948160. Use 227300 for the token.

Can I put the token in server_config.sii instead?

Use Startup. The panel writes Steam Auth token into server_logon_token at every start, so a value typed into the file is replaced.

My server still says LogOn Anonymous. Why?

Check that you saved the field (click out of it), that the token has no spaces, and that you restarted. If Steam has deleted or reset the token, create a new one.

Do I need a token to play?

No. The server works without one. Players can still find it by its name in the Convoy browser.
