Unlike standard multiplayer games, Euro Truck Simulator 2 dependencies are strictly tied to the map data used by the server. If your server utilizes a region from a DLC (such as Iberia or West Balkans) that a joining player does not own, they will be unable to synchronize with the session.

The “Base Map” Rule

If you wish to host a server that is accessible to the maximum number of people, you must generate your server_packages.sii using a game client that holds only the Base Map files.
  1. On your PC, disable all Map DLCs in your Steam Properties.
  2. Launch the game and use the “Export Server Packages” tool.
  3. Upload the resulting server_packages.sii to your FREAKHOSTING instance.

Handling Cosmetic DLCs

Cosmetic items (Paint jobs, Cabin accessories, and Wheel tuning) are handled gracefully by the engine.
  • If a player owns a DLC paint job that another player does not, the other player will simply see a plain white or gray truck.
  • This does not prevent anyone from joining the lobby.
