ProMods is a free map expansion mod for Euro Truck Simulator 2 that adds and reworks roads and countries. Install it in your own game from promods.net, following its requirements for game version and SCS map DLC. To run it on a FREAKHOSTING Convoy server, activate ProMods, run export_server_packages and upload the two server_packages files. Every player then needs the same ProMods version.

Before you start

  • Check the current ProMods version, the ETS2 version it supports and the DLC it needs on promods.net. ProMods only works on the game version it was made for.
  • Every player in your convoy needs the same requirements. A player who can’t run ProMods can’t join a ProMods session.

Step 1: Install ProMods in your game

Download from promods.net

Download the current ProMods release and follow the official instructions on promods.net. Only download from the official site.

Put the files in your mod folder

Copy the ProMods files into Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod\, as the ProMods instructions describe.

Activate in the Mod Manager

Start the game, open the Mod Manager on your profile and activate the ProMods packages in the order ProMods gives.

Test in single player

Drive into the world once. The first load with a big map mod can take longer.

Step 2: Run ProMods on your Convoy server

Export the packages

With ProMods active and the map loaded, open the console and run export_server_packages. See export server packages.

Upload both files

Stop the server. In Files, open .local > share > Euro Truck Simulator 2 and replace server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat.

Start and check

Start the server and check [MP] Modded session: in the console.

Tell your players

Share the exact ProMods version and the load order. ProMods isn’t on the Steam Workshop, so players download it themselves.

After a game or ProMods update

When ETS2 updates, older ProMods versions stop working until ProMods releases a matching version. Your server updates at each start while Auto update is on. To avoid a broken session:
  1. Wait for ProMods to support the new game version.
  2. Update ProMods in your game.
  3. Export and upload the packages again.
