Understanding the Problem

Why Does This Happen?

Hytale uses the QUIC protocol for network communication. QUIC is a modern, high-performance protocol, but it is not fully supported by all network hardware and drivers.
FactorDetails
Affected HardwareIntel and Realtek network adapters (most common)
Connection TypesBoth Wi-Fi and Ethernet can be affected
Root CauseRare driver bugs with QUIC protocol handling
Driver Fix ExpectedUnlikely — this is a low-priority issue for vendors

Confirming the Issue

Before making changes, confirm that network drivers are the cause:
StepAction
1Get an Ethernet USB dongle (any brand)
2Connect it to your computer
3Connect to the internet through the USB dongle
4Try joining a Hytale server
If the problem is resolved using the USB dongle, your built-in network adapter drivers are the issue. Proceed with the solutions below.
