A Satisfactory dedicated server allows 4 players at once by default, and the server is tuned for that number. On a FREAKHOSTING Satisfactory server, Player slots on the Game settings page is set to 4 and fixed by your hosting plan, so you can’t change it in the panel. More than 4 players can make the server unstable and use much more memory and CPU.

Why is the Satisfactory player limit 4?

The official Satisfactory Wiki says the dedicated server is “tuned to be most performant with the default player cap of four” and that a higher limit “may have negative effects on server stability, performance, and resource usage.” The panel shows the same warning on Player slots: “More than the default of 4 players can make the server unstable and use much more memory.”

Where can I see the player limit?

1

Open Game settings

In the Game Panel, open your server and click Game settings under GAME SETTINGS.
2

Check Player slots

Under Server, Player slots shows 4 with the note “This setting is fixed by your hosting plan.”
The Startup page also lists [Experimental] Max Players as 4. It is read-only.

What if I need more than 4 players?

Open a ticket and tell us how many players you expect. Bear in mind that big factories with many players need much more memory and CPU; see performance and lag.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the player limit myself?

No. The player limit on your server is set by your plan, so Player slots and Max Players are locked.

Does the 4-player limit count me?

Yes. It is the number of players online at the same time, including you.

Can more people use the server if they take turns?

Yes. The limit only counts players online at once. Anyone with the address (and player password, if set) can join while a slot is free.
