[MP] LogOn Anonymous and the server gets a new, non-persistent ID on every start.
Before you start
- You need a Steam account that owns American Truck Simulator. Steam requires game ownership to create the token.
- Steam may have other account requirements for creating tokens; its page tells you if one applies.
How to create the token on Steam
1
Open Steam's game server page
Go to steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers and log in.
2
Enter the app ID
Enter 270880, the app ID of American Truck Simulator. Don’t use the dedicated server’s app ID (2239530); SCS says to use the game’s.
3
Add a memo and create
Type a memo, for example
FREAKHOSTING ATS server, and create the token. Copy the login token. How to add the token to your server
1
Open Startup
In the Game Panel, open your server and click Startup.
2
Paste the token
Paste it into Steam Auth token (up to 32 characters), then click outside the field. It saves automatically.
3
Restart
Restart the server. The panel writes the token into
server_logon_token in server_config.sii on every start.4
Check the console
The
[MP] LogOn Anonymous line should be gone from the console.

Why use a logon token?
A fixed ID matters when players use direct search: they keep the same search ID instead of needing a new one after each restart.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to use a token?
No. The server runs without one. You only lose the persistent server ID.Can I use one token on two servers?
No. SCS says the logon token must be unique for each running server. Create one token per server.Should I put the token in server_config.sii?
No. Use Steam Auth token on Startup. The panel overwritesserver_logon_token in the file on every start.
Is the token secret?
Treat it like a password. Anyone with it can run a server under your Steam game server account. If it leaks, regenerate it on the Steam page and paste the new one.Related guides
