Expanding the Map: Coast to Coast

The Coast to Coast (C2C) mod is one of the most ambitious community projects for American Truck Simulator (ATS), adding thousands of miles of meticulously detailed roads and expanding the playable area to cover the entire United States. Deploying this on a server enables your community to embark on truly epic cross-country hauls, spanning from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

Technical Prerequisites

Before initializing the installation, confirm that your server environment and all participating drivers meet these specific requirements.
Most iterations of the Coast to Coast mod require all official SCS map DLCs to be active. If any driver is missing a required expansion, the server will reject their connection attempt.

Installation & Deployment Workflow

Follow these precise steps to enable the Coast to Coast expansion on your FREAKHOSTING server.
1

Upload Asset Files

Upload the C2C .scs files into the /mod/ directory of your server using the Game Panel File Manager or an SFTP client.
2

Generate Mod Manifest

For Convoy mode, you must register the mod within the server_packages.sii file to ensure the server correctly broadcasts the required assets to joining players.
3

Establish Load Priority

In your configuration, ensure the Coast to Coast mod is loaded after the base game assets but before any localized map expansions or state-specific cosmetic mods to prevent geometry conflicts.
4

Initialize and Validate

Restart your server via the console. Monitor the initialization logs to ensure the map sectors are loaded into memory successfully.

Managing Game Updates

Map mods are exceptionally sensitive to official game engine updates. Whenever ATS receives a major patch, the Coast to Coast mod will likely require an update from its developers. We strongly recommend creating a backup of your world save before applying any updates to prevent data loss.

Advanced Map Management

If players encounter invisible walls at state lines, it usually indicates a load order conflict. Verify that no other map mods are overriding the C2C sector data in your server_packages.sii.
Running a map of this scale increases the server’s memory footprint. If you experience performance dips, consider reducing the max AI traffic count or limiting the number of simultaneous active mods.
