Documents\American Truck Simulator\mod or subscribe on the Workshop, then activate it in Mod Manager. To use it in a convoy on your FREAKHOSTING server, export your server packages with the mod active and upload them. Players need the same mod unless its author marked it optional and you set mods_optioning: true.
Before you start
- Winter mods are community mods, not made by SCS or FREAKHOSTING. Download them only from the author’s official page or the Steam Workshop, and use the version for your game version.
- Read the mod’s notes. Some weather mods come in several files or ask for a set load order.
How to install a winter mod in your game

Get the mod
Subscribe on the Steam Workshop or copy the downloaded
.scs file into Documents\American Truck Simulator\mod.2
Activate it
Select your profile, open Mod Manager and activate the mod in the order its author gives.

Drive a while in single player to check the weather looks right.
How to use it on your convoy server

Export packages with the mod active
Load the profile, press
~ and type export_server_packages. See export server packages.2
Upload to the server
Stop the server, open Files >
.local > share > American Truck Simulator and upload both files.3
Decide if it is optional
If the mod’s
manifest.sii has mp_mod_optional: true, you can set mods_optioning: true in server_config.sii so players can join without it. See optional mods.4

Moderators can type/set_rain_factor followed by a value from 0 to 1 in the chat, for example /set_rain_factor 0 for no rain. See moderators and commands.
