The vanilla DayZ dedicated server package features exceptionally limited administrative capabilities, often requiring complex console variable management for basic tasks. VPPAdminTools has established itself as the industry-standard modification for server owners, providing a complete graphical user interface (GUI) and a highly granular permissions system. By implementing this toolset, you gain absolute control over your environment, from real-time player tracking to physics-defying building capabilities.

Installation & Initial Setup

Follow these steps to deploy and authorize the management toolkit on your FREAKHOSTING server.

Initialize the Modification

Subscribe to the @VPPAdminTools and @CF (Community Framework) mods on the Steam Workshop. Ensure both are included in your server’s active mod list.

Authorize Security Keys

Navigate to the mod’s directory and copy the .bikey file into your server’s root /keys/ folder. This is important for allowing players to connect while the mod is active.

Register as SuperAdmin

Launch the server once to generate the directory structure. Navigate to /profiles/VPPAdminTools/Permissions/ and open the SuperAdmins.txt file. Add your 17-digit SteamID64 to the registry and save the file.

Apply Changes

Restart your server via the Game Panel to initialize the administrative permissions.
Once authenticated and in-game, you can access the primary management dashboard using the default keybindings.
Press the End key to reveal the primary dashboard. From here, you can access the real-time Global Map, view connected player statistics, and modify server-wide variables without disconnecting.

Tactical Building: Freecam Mode

Press H to initialize the “Freecam” system. In this state, your perspective is detached from your character, allowing you to fly through the world. You can use the built-in object spawner to physically place buildings, assets, and environmental props directly into the world and save them permanently to the map database.
