Defining a unique server name helps your community find your lobby in the global browser, while a strong password ensures that only authorized survivors can enter your world.

Configuration Settings

Enshrouded uses a JSON-based configuration file for main server settings.
  1. Log in to your FREAKHOSTING Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to the Files tab.
  3. Locate enshrouded_server.json in the root directory.
  4. Edit the following variables:
    • "name": The name displayed in the server browser.
    • "password": The required string for players to join.

Password Requirements

While earlier builds had few restrictions, we recommend using a password with at least 5 characters. Avoid using spaces or special symbols like " inside the JSON value to prevent parsing errors.
