To change your Enshrouded server name and password on FREAKHOSTING, open Game settings under GAME SETTINGS in the Game Panel. Type a new Server name, click Change next to Server password and enter the new password, then click Review and save and Save changes. Restart the server so players see the new name and need the new password.

How to change the server name

The server name is what players see in the in-game server list. The default is Hosted by FREAKHOSTING.COM.

Open Game settings

Open your server and click Game settings under GAME SETTINGS.

Type the new name

In the Server section, type the new name in Server name. The field has a STARTUP badge because the name is stored on the Startup page.

Review and save

Click Review and save. The dialog shows a block called Startup settings (the Startup page) with the old and new SRV_NAME= line. Click Save changes.

Restart

Click Restart now in the yellow banner, then Restart. The server writes the new name into enshrouded_server.json when it starts.

How to change the server password

The Server password is the password of the first player group, called “Default”. Players need it to join.

Click Change

In the Server section, click Change next to Server password (it shows ••••••••).

Enter the new password

Type the password in New value and click Done.

Save and restart

Click Review and save, then Save changes (the password is hidden in the review). Click Restart now and Restart.
Always change the join password in Game settings. That is where the password of the “Default” group lives.

How long can my Enshrouded server name be?

Keep it short and clear so it fits in the server list. Players can search the list by name, so use a word they will remember.

Do players need to re-enter the password after I change it?

Yes. After the restart, players who join are asked for the new password. Tell them before you change it.

Can I change the name without restarting?

No. The server reads its name and password when it starts. Until you restart, it keeps the old ones.

Why does my old name still show in the list?

The server list can take a short while to refresh after a restart. Search for the new name in the in-game list, or see server not showing in the list.
