How to Set a Server Password in Enshrouded

Since Enshrouded servers are publicly indexed in the Steam community browser, applying a password is the only way to ensure your world remains private for you and your friends.

1. Modifying the Configuration

1. Connect to your FREAKHOSTING Control Panel.
2. Open the Files tab and locate enshrouded_server.json in the root directory.
3. Find the "password" field and enter your desired phrase inside the double quotes.

2. Best Practices

• Character Length: We recommend a minimum of 5 characters.
• Special Characters: Avoid using symbols that require escaping in JSON, such as the backslash (\) or double-quotes ("), as these can break the config file.
