Starting Anew in Embervale

Whether your world has become cluttered with abandoned structures or you simply wish to experience the Early Access progression from scratch with a new community ruleset, performing a world wipe is a straightforward administrative procedure. This process purges all persistent voxel modifications and player-built bases, allowing the game engine to generate a pristine, untouched instance of Embervale.

Technical Reset Procedure

Follow these steps to safely initialize a brand-new world on your FREAKHOSTING instance.

Initialize Maintenance

Log in to the Game Panel and Stop your server. Never attempt to delete world files while the engine is initialized, as the process maintains active locks on the database.

Navigate to Save Data

Open the Files tab in the sidebar menu and locate the /savegame/ directory.

Purge World Logic

Select all files within the folder (or the folder itself) and click Delete.
This action is irreversible. All terraforming, buildings, and world-level progression (like Flame Altar levels) will be permanently destroyed. Ensure you have a Manual Backup if you wish to preserve any data.

Initialize New World

Start your server via the console. The engine will detect the missing directory and programmatically generate a fresh world instance with a new unique identifier.

Community Considerations

In Enshrouded, character data (levels, skills, and personal inventory) is primarily stored on the player’s local client or Steam Cloud. When survivors rejoin your freshly wiped world, they will likely arrive with their high-tier gear and existing attributes. If you desire a “True Fresh Start” for your community, you must manually coordinate with your players to create new characters.
Following a wipe, it is an excellent strategic opportunity to update your Server Name and Description to include a “Fresh Wipe” tag (e.g., [WIPED 23/01]). This significantly increases visibility within the global server browser.
