To wipe your Enshrouded server world on FREAKHOSTING, make a backup, stop the server, open Files in the Game Panel, delete everything inside the savegame folder and start the server again. Enshrouded creates a brand new world on start. Your settings, password and player groups in enshrouded_server.json stay, and players keep their characters because characters are stored on their own PCs.

How to wipe your Enshrouded world

Make a backup

Click Backups > Create backup and wait until it is finished. This is your only way back to the old world.

Stop the server

Stop the server and wait until it shows as offline.

Open the savegame folder

Click Files and open savegame.

Delete the world files

Select every file and folder inside savegame and delete them. Leave the savegame folder itself, and don’t touch enshrouded_server.json.

Start the server

Start the server. Watch the console until [Session] finished transition from 'Lobby' to 'Host_Online' appears. The new world is ready.
Deleting the save files can’t be undone. Check that your backup finished before you delete anything.

How to change the rules for the new world

A wipe is a good moment to change the difficulty. Before you start the server, open Game settings, choose a Game rules preset or set Custom rules, then Review and save. See Game settings.

How to go back to the old world

Open Backups, click Restore on the backup you made before the wipe and confirm. See manage save games.

Frequently asked questions

Do players lose their characters in a world wipe?

No. Characters are saved on each player’s PC, so they join the new world with their level, skills and items.

Do I need to reinstall the server to reset the world?

No. Deleting the files in savegame is enough. A reinstall isn’t needed.

Can I keep the old world and switch back later?

Yes. Keep the backup you made before the wipe and restore it when you want the old world again. Make a backup of the new world first.
