To become admin on a Mordhau server, set an Admin Password on Startup in the Game Panel and restart the server. In game, press ~ to open the console and type adminlogin <password>. To make another player a permanent admin, log in and type AddAdmin <player name> while they are on the server, or add an Admins= line under [/Script/Mordhau.MordhauGameSession] in Game.ini.

How to set the admin password

Open Startup

Open your server in the Game Panel and click Startup.

Enter a password

Enter a new Admin Password of up to 20 characters. The field saves when you click away.

Restart

Restart the server. The panel writes the password into Game.ini as it starts. Change it here, not in the file: the panel replaces the AdminPassword line at every start.

How to log in as admin in game

Join your server, press ~ to open the console and type:
You now have admin rights until you leave. Anyone who knows the password can do the same, so share it only with people you trust.

How to add a permanent admin

Permanent admins get admin rights without typing the password.

With AddAdmin in game

Log in with adminlogin, then, while the player is on the server, type:
Put a name with spaces in quotes. Use AdminList to see the admins, and RemoveAdmin PlayerName to take the rights away.

Stop the server

Stop the server.

Open Game.ini

In Files, open Mordhau > Saved > Config > LinuxServer > Game.ini.

Add one line per admin

Under [/Script/Mordhau.MordhauGameSession], add one Admins= line for each admin, with the player’s ID. Use the same ID format that AdminList shows for an admin you already added in game. Each admin needs their own line.

Save and start

Click Save Content and start the server. The panel keeps your Admins= lines when it starts.

What can a Mordhau admin do?

Why does adminlogin say my password is wrong?

Check the Admin Password on Startup and make sure you restarted after changing it. If you changed AdminPassword in Game.ini, that edit was replaced at the next start; change it on Startup instead.

Do I need to log in every time?

Only if you use the password. Players added with AddAdmin or an Admins= line are admins without logging in.

Can I give someone panel access instead?

Yes. Panel access is separate from in-game admin. Use sub-users to let someone manage the server in the Game Panel.
