Cosmicguard Protection Profiles (also known as Presets) are technical rulesets specifically tuned for high-performance, latency-sensitive gaming environments. By applying a profile, you enable advanced stateful packet inspection and protocol-specific validation tailored to your game engine. This ensures that malicious traffic is dropped at the network edge while legitimate player data is prioritized and delivered with zero jitter.

Cosmicguard offers a complete library of presets designed for modern multiplayer engines.

Deployment Workflow

Follow these steps to activate a protection profile for your server.

Access the Dashboard

Log in to the Firewall Management Portal.

Select Your IP

Navigate to the IP Addresses tab and click on the specific IP address protected by the Cosmicguard network.

Open Profile Selection

Locate the Protection Profiles (or Presets) dropdown menu within the IP management interface.

Finalize and Apply

Select the profile that precisely matches your server’s primary game or application and click Apply Changes.

Technical Maintenance

Switching between profiles is instantaneous. There is no requirement to restart your game server; however, active connections may experience a momentary (sub-second) refresh as the stateful inspection table updates.
Cosmicguard presets are dynamic. Our network engineers constantly refine the underlying logic of each profile to address emerging bypass methods and threat vectors. By using a preset, you are automatically benefiting from the latest mitigation intelligence.

Identifying the Correct Profile

If your specific game is not listed, we recommend using the Generic Game or Source Engine profile as a baseline. These provide a strong foundation of stateful validation suitable for most UDP-based real-time protocols.
