Dataforest Protection Profiles (also known as Presets) are pre-configured firewall logic blocks expertly tuned for specific games and network protocols. Applying a profile is the most efficient method for securing your services, as it eliminates the need for manual rule creation while enabling advanced protocol validation. These profiles are designed to allow legitimate user traffic to proceed unimpeded while discard malicious packets at our global scrubbing edge.

Deployment Procedure

Follow these steps to activate a protection profile for your IP address.

Access the Portal

Log in to the Firewall Management Panel.

Identify Your Asset

Navigate to the IP Addresses tab and locate the specific IP address you wish to protect.

Open Settings

Click the Settings or Manage button next to your IP to open the configuration interface.

Execute Application

Select the profile that precisely matches your primary service from the Protection Profile dropdown menu and click Save Changes.

Operational Best Practices

Each IP address can only maintain one active Protection Profile at any given time. If you are hosting multiple diverse services on a single IP (e.g., a Minecraft server and a Web server), we recommend using the Any Application profile or building a Custom Filtering Strategy.
Dataforest profiles are not static. Our network security team constantly updates the underlying logic of these presets to mitigate new attack vectors. These updates are applied automatically at the network layer; you do not need to re-apply the profile manually.
