CS2 Server Commands List: Console Commands for Admins

CS2 server commands are typed in the server console, not in your own game console. On a FREAKHOSTING server, open your server in the Game Panel, click Console and type a command such as changelevel de_mirage (change map), mp_restartgame 1 (restart the match), mp_warmup_end (end warmup) or bot_kick (remove bots). This page lists the commands server owners use most.

Where do I type CS2 server commands?

Where	When to use it
Game Panel Console	Always works. Type the command and press Enter. See how to use the server console.
RCON tool	Remote administration from another program. Set an RCON password in Server settings > Advanced. RCON does not work from inside the game.
Config file	Put commands in a `.cfg` file and run it with `exec`. See how to execute custom configs.
In-game chat	Only with an admin plugin, for example `!map de_mirage` with CS2-SimpleAdmin. See how to add admins in CS2.

Server and player commands

Command	What it does	Example
`status`	Lists the map and the players, with their user IDs.	`status`
`hostname "<name>"`	Sets the server name until the next restart.	`hostname "My CS2 Server"`
`sv_password "<password>"`	Sets a join password. Empty quotes remove it.	`sv_password "scrim123"`
`say <message>`	Sends a chat message to everyone.	`say Restart in 5 minutes`
`kick <name>`	Kicks a player by name.	`kick PlayerName`
`kickid <userid> [message]`	Kicks a player by the user ID from `status`.	`kickid 3 AFK`

Map commands

`map <map>`	Loads a map from scratch.	`map de_dust2`
`host_workshop_map <id>`	Downloads a Workshop map by its ID and changes to it.	`host_workshop_map 3070284539`
`ds_workshop_listmaps`	Lists the Workshop maps on your server.	`ds_workshop_listmaps`
`ds_workshop_changelevel <name>`	Changes to a Workshop map from your collection by name.	`ds_workshop_changelevel de_cache`

Game mode commands

Command	What it does	Example
`game_type <n>`	Sets the game type. Applies on the next map.	`game_type 0`
`game_mode <n>`	Sets the game mode. Applies on the next map.	`game_mode 1`
`game_alias <name>`	Sets both at once: `competitive`, `wingman`, `casual`, `deathmatch` or `custom`.	`game_alias wingman`

Match commands

`mp_maxrounds <n>`	Rounds per match.	`mp_maxrounds 24`
`mp_roundtime <minutes>`	Round length.	`mp_roundtime 1.92`
`mp_freezetime <seconds>`	Freeze time at the start of each round.	`mp_freezetime 15`
`mp_friendlyfire <0/1>`	Friendly fire off or on.	`mp_friendlyfire 1`
`mp_autoteambalance <0/1>`	Automatic team balance off or on.	`mp_autoteambalance 0`
`mp_limitteams <n>`	How many more players one team may have. `0` means no limit.	`mp_limitteams 0`

Bot commands

Command	What it does	Example
`bot_kick`	Removes all bots. `bot_kick ct` or `bot_kick t` for one team.	`bot_kick`
`bot_add_ct` / `bot_add_t`	Adds a bot to that team.	`bot_add_t`
`bot_quota <n>`	How many bots the server keeps.	`bot_quota 0`

GOTV commands

Command	What it does	Example
`tv_enable 1`	Turns GOTV on after the next map change.	`tv_enable 1`
`tv_autorecord 1`	Records every game automatically.	`tv_autorecord 1`
`tv_record <name>`	Starts a recording.	`tv_record final`
`tv_stoprecord`	Stops the recording.	`tv_stoprecord`

Plugin framework commands

Command	What it does
`meta list`	Lists loaded Metamod:Source plugins, including CounterStrikeSharp.
`css_plugins list`	Lists loaded CounterStrikeSharp plugins.
`css_admins_reload`	Reloads CounterStrikeSharp’s `admins.json`.

Don’t use quit or exit to stop the server. Use Stop or Restart in the Game Panel, so the panel knows the server’s state.

No. Commands typed in the console last until the server restarts. Put permanent settings in Server settings or server.cfg.
