Capturing Every Moment

CSTV (the successor to GOTV) is the primary tool for recording full-server match replays in Counter-Strike 2. Enabling automatic recording is essential for community servers that require evidence for moderator actions or competitive teams performing tactical analysis.

Configuration

To enable automatic recording, add these variables to your /game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg file:
tv_enable 1 // Enables the CSTV engine
tv_autorecord 1 // Automatically starts recording when a match begins
tv_maxclients 0 // Disables live spectators to save CPU and bandwidth
tv_delay 120 // 2-minute delay to prevent "ghosting" or cheating

2. Retrieving Your Replays

  1. Storage Location: All recorded demos are saved directly in the /game/csgo/ directory.
  2. Naming Convention: Files are labeled in the format auto-YYYYMMDD-hhmm-map.dem.
  3. Access: You can download these files at any time via the FREAKHOSTING Files tab or using an SFTP client like FileZilla.
