Troubleshooting: Version Mismatch
The “Incompatible Version” error occurs whenever the game client (your PC) and the game server (FREAKHOSTING) are running different versions of Valheim. This often happens immediately after a game update is released on Steam.

Common Resolutions
1. Trigger a Server Update
Our servers check for updates upon startup. If Valheim has just released a patch:- Go to your FREAKHOSTING Console.
- Click Restart.
- Watch for the line
Success! App '896660' fully installed.in the console.
2. Check Beta Branches
If you are opted into a “Public Test” (beta) branch on Steam to try new content like Ashlands, you cannot join a “Standard” server.- Fix: Right-click Valheim in Steam -> Properties -> Betas -> Set to None.
3. Mod Verification
If you are running mods via BepInEx, both the server and your client must have matching versions of those mods.- Common Culprit: Valheim Plus. If the server is on
v0.9.11and you are onv0.9.10, you will get a version error.
