Most FiveM communities build on the same few pieces: a roleplay framework, proximity voice, a custom loading screen, uniforms and tuned cars. This guide shows you how to set each one up.

Install a framework with a txAdmin recipe

A framework gives your server jobs, money, inventories and characters. The easiest way to install one is a txAdmin recipe, which downloads everything, creates the database tables and writes server.cfg for you. Pick one and stay with it: scripts are usually written for one framework.
1

Back up and create a database

Create a backup, then create a database and keep its card open.
2

Start the deployer

Open txAdmin. On a new server, the setup asks for a deployment type. Choose Popular Recipes and pick your framework.
3

Follow the recipe

Review the recipe and click through. When asked, enter your licence key and the database host, user name, password and database name from the database card.
4

Check server.cfg and start

Check the server.cfg the recipe wrote, then click Save & Run Server.
A recipe installs the server into the folder txAdmin chooses. If that isn’t your server’s main folder, the panel’s Server config and Resources pages don’t change the files txAdmin uses. Manage server.cfg and resources in txAdmin or Files instead.
Already set up txAdmin with Existing Server Data? Running a recipe later means setting up txAdmin again. Make a backup first, or open a ticket if you’re unsure.

Set up proximity voice with pma-voice

FiveM has built-in voice chat. pma-voice adds proximity voice with ranges, radio and phone calls, and is used by most frameworks.
1

Remove other voice scripts

pma-voice doesn’t work alongside other voice systems. Stop and remove older ones such as mumble-voip or tokovoip, and turn off vMenu’s voice chat options if you use vMenu.
2

Install pma-voice

Upload the release zip on Resources and switch on Start at boot. QBCore and Qbox recipes usually include it already.
3

Add the settings

Add these lines to server.cfg, above ensure pma-voice:
Native audio adds 3D sound, echo and reverb. Radio and phone effects (voice_enableSubmix) are on by default and need native audio.
4

Restart

Restart the server. Players cycle their talking range with F11 by default.
Use only one audio mode: voice_useNativeAudio or voice_use3dAudio, not both.

Add a custom loading screen

A loading screen is a resource with a web page (HTML, CSS, images, music) and one extra line in its fxmanifest.lua.
1

Build or download the screen

Use a ready-made loading screen resource or make your own index.html. Every file the page uses must be listed under files.
2

Remove the example screen

On Resources, switch off Start at boot for example-loadscreen or any other loading screen. Only one can run.
3

Upload and start yours

Upload your resource, switch on Start at boot and restart.
Keep the screen light: compress images and videos, and keep music quiet (a volume of 0.3 or lower). Players on slow connections see it the longest.

Install EUP (Emergency Uniforms Pack)

EUP adds police, EMS and fire uniforms. It usually comes as a streaming resource with the clothing files and a menu resource to pick outfits.
1

Download EUP

Download EUP from its official release on the Cfx.re forum. Read the release page first: it lists the files, the menu it needs and any licence requirements.
2

Upload it

EUP is large, so upload the folders into resources with SFTP.
3

Start in the right order

Switch on Start at boot for each part, and make sure the menu library starts first, then the clothing, then the menu. For example:
4

Restart

Restart the server.
If players see invisible body parts or default clothes, check the EUP release page’s requirements and your game build.

Tune vehicle handling

How a car drives is set in its handling.meta file, inside the car’s resource.
1

Back up the file

In Files, open the car’s handling.meta. The editor keeps a history, but a copy doesn’t hurt.
2

Change one value at a time

Make small steps, for example 0.05 at a time for traction and drive force. Save.
3

Reload the car

Restart the car’s resource (ensure <carresource> in the console) and spawn the car again. A car that is already spawned keeps its old handling.
The handlingName in handling.meta must match the one in the car’s vehicles.meta, or the game ignores your changes.

Resources

Upload and start resources.
