Before you start
- Read the Console from the top of the last start. The first red error is usually the real cause.
- Check the log files in Logs: the panel also looks in txAdmin’s
txDatafolder. See how to read server logs. - Make a backup before you change several things at once.
Common problems
The server won't start: licence key missing or invalid
The server won't start: licence key missing or invalid
Your server needs a valid licence key from portal.cfx.re.
- Open Startup and check FxServer License Key. If it still says
changemeplease, get a key and paste it in. - Make sure you copied the whole key, with no spaces before or after it.
- Check that
server.cfgdoesn’t contain its ownsv_licenseKeyline with an old key. Server config shows whether a key is set. - Restart the server.
My server doesn't show up in the server list
My server doesn't show up in the server list
- A new or restarted server can take a few minutes to appear. Search for the exact name you set in Server config.
- Make sure the server is fully started: the console shows no errors and txAdmin shows it as online.
- Check the licence key (see above). A server with a key problem isn’t listed.
- In the meantime, players can join directly: press F8 in FiveM and type
connect 203.0.113.10:30120with your server’s address.
Players can't connect or get "connection timed out"
Players can't connect or get "connection timed out"
- Copy the address from the Copy address card in the console. Make sure players use that exact IP and port.
- Check the server is running and the console shows no errors.
- If it fails while loading, a resource may be broken or too large. Look at the console while the player connects.
- If you just changed the game build, players need to let FiveM download the new game data. Ask them to restart FiveM.
- Ask the player to clear their FiveM cache.
txAdmin won't open
txAdmin won't open
- txAdmin only runs while the server is started. Start the server, wait for it to finish, then click Open txAdmin.
- Open txAdmin uses port 40120. Some networks (school, work) block it; try another connection.
- Don’t change txAdmin Port in Startup.
- Can’t sign in? Use the Cfx.re button with the account you linked during setup. Other admins can be reset by an admin with the manage.admins permission. If you’ve lost access to the master account, open a ticket.
My changes on Server config or Resources don't do anything
My changes on Server config or Resources don't do anything
txAdmin reads
server.cfg from the folder you chose during its setup. If that isn’t your server’s main folder, the panel edits a different file.- Look at the Checks box on Server config. If it shows txAdmin runs this server, open Details.
- Either set up txAdmin with Existing Server Data and your main folder (
/home/container), or make your changes in txAdmin’sserver.cfgeditor instead. - Also remember to restart the server after saving.
A resource doesn't start: "Couldn't find resource"
A resource doesn't start: "Couldn't find resource"
- The name in
ensuremust match the resource’s folder name exactly, including capital letters. - The
fxmanifest.luamust sit directly in the resource folder, e.g.resources/myscript/fxmanifest.lua, notresources/myscript/myscript/fxmanifest.lua. - After uploading, click Refresh resources in the console (or restart) so the server finds it.
- Check that it starts after the resources it needs. See load order.
Database errors from oxmysql
Database errors from oxmysql
- Check the
mysql_connection_stringline inserver.cfg. Copy it again from your database card on Databases using the FiveM (oxmysql) format. - If you used Rotate password, the old password no longer works. Update the line and restart.
- Make sure
oxmysqlstarts before your framework. - “Table doesn’t exist” errors mean a script’s
.sqlfile wasn’t imported. Import it with phpMyAdmin. See create a database.
