Setup and connecting

Two ways:
  • Direct: in FiveM, press F8 and type connect 203.0.113.10:30120 with your server’s address. Copy it from the Copy address card in the console.
  • Server list: search for your server’s name in FiveM’s server list.
See connect from FiveM.
For free on portal.cfx.re, under Server Registration Keys. Paste it in Startup as FxServer License Key. See get a licence key.
Usually you can keep using the same key. If the console reports a licence error after an IP change or a move, regenerate the key on portal.cfx.re, paste the new key in Startup and restart.
Yes. At your domain provider, create an A record (for example play.example.com) that points to your server’s IP. Players then connect with connect play.example.com:30120, using your server’s port. DNS changes can take a while to work everywhere.
Only if you or your scripts use Steam identifiers, for example for admin rights or bans. Without it, Steam IDs aren’t available. See Steam Web API key.

Settings and slots

Your slots come from your plan. The panel writes sv_maxclients from Max Players at every start, so editing server.cfg doesn’t help. Upgrade your plan in the client area. More than 48 slots also needs a FiveM Element Club subscription on your licence key. See player slots.
Yes. Set OneSync to On (recommended) on Server config. It’s needed for more than 32 players and for most modern scripts. See OneSync.
On Server config, pick a build under Game build, save and restart. See game build. This is different from the FXServer build, which you change on Artifacts.
Click Artifacts in the sidebar and choose Recommended, Latest or a specific build. Your old build is kept so you can go back. See change the FXServer build.
In your server’s main folder. The easiest way to edit it is Server config; click Advanced: open the raw file for the full file. If you set up txAdmin with a recipe, txAdmin may use a server.cfg in another folder; you can edit that one in txAdmin.

txAdmin, mods and data

Sign in with the Cfx.re button using the account you linked during setup; you don’t need the password for that. An admin with the manage.admins permission can reset other admins’ passwords in the Admin Manager. If you’ve lost access to the master account, open a ticket.
The Resources upload takes zips up to 100 MB. Upload bigger resources with an SFTP client into the resources folder, then switch on Start at boot. See resources larger than 100 MB.
For roleplay, pick QBCore, Qbox or ESX Legacy; all three install with a txAdmin recipe. Choose the one your favourite scripts support, and stay with it. For a freeroam server without jobs and money, you don’t need a framework; vMenu is enough. See popular setups.
Make backups yourself on Backups, or switch on Automatic backups. See how to create and restore backups and how to set up automatic backups. Backups contain your server files. Export your database separately in phpMyAdmin before big changes.
Yes. Add them as a txAdmin admin for in-game moderation, and as a Game Panel subuser if they need the console or files. See admin and commands.
