To download a Minecraft map for your FREAKHOSTING server, open your server in the Game Panel, click Worlds, find a map from CurseForge, click Install next to a file, choose whether it becomes the active world and click Install world. The panel downloads, checks and unpacks the map into a new folder. Restart the server to load it.

Before you start

  • Make a backup if your current world matters to you: Backups > Create backup. Installing a map never overwrites a world folder, but a backup is still the safest way to go back.
  • Check your free disk space. Some maps are several hundred MB.

How to install a map from the Worlds page

1

Open Worlds

Open your server in the Game Panel and click Worlds in the sidebar. The Browse tab lists worlds from CurseForge. Minecraft version is set to your server’s version.

Why can’t I install some maps?

Some authors don’t allow downloads through other sites. Their maps show Downloads disabled by the author. Download the map from CurseForge yourself, then upload it to your server.

Frequently asked questions

Does installing a map delete my current world?

No. A map always goes into a new folder. With Replace an existing world on, the old world is moved to a .old-<date> folder, not deleted.

How do I go back to my old world?

Open Worlds > Installed, click Set active on your old world and restart.

Do players need to download the map?

No. The map runs on the server. Players only need the right Minecraft version, plus any resource pack the map’s page asks for.

Can I play a one-block or skyblock map on my server?

Yes, if it is offered as a world download. Search for it on the Browse tab.
